Subject: Second conditional + Vocabulary + Spelling + Alphabet


This game is designed to help new classmates to get to know each other's names, while playing, in the first lesson.

Skills: Speaking, Listening.

Level: B1

Recommended Age: 14+

Number of Participants: 4-12 players.

Time: 20-30 minutes.

Place: Any.

Equipment: Not required.

Materials: Not required.

Preliminary Preparation: Not required.

Immediate Preparation: Not required.  

How to Play. First Player A comes to the front of the class and the game may start like this:

You: What's your name?

Player А: My name is Potap.

You: How do you spell that, please?

Player А: P-O-T-A-P.

Player В: What would you be if you was an animal?

Player А: I'd be a panda!

Player А gets 1 point.

Player С: What would you be if you was a tree?

Player А: I don't know!

Player С: You'd be a pine!

Player C gets 1 point.

and so on, each time naming a key word, beginning with the same letter as the name of Player A. If an asking player can not answer his/her own question, nobody gets any points. The round lasts as long as each player has asked Player A. In the next round, it is Player B's turn to introduce himself/herself and Player C's right to ask the first question and so on. The game lasts as long as all the player have introduced themselves. At the end, the gained points are counted up. The winner is the player to get the most points in total.
