Ideas for English Lessons

Subject: Possessive 's

This game is designed to help you to catch faster the names of your new students.

Skills: Speaking, Listening.

Level: A1

Recommended Age: 8-10 y.o.

Participants Number: 6-12 players.

Time: 15-20 minutes.

Place: Playground.

Equipment: A ball.

Materials: Not required.

Preliminary Preparation: Not required.

Immediate Preparation: (5-7 minutes): Take the ball and stand  with the children in a circle at a distance of approximately 1 m each from other.

How to Play. You go out into the centre and toss the ball up, saying, e.g.: 'This isn't my ball! This is Aglaya's ball!' After that, you quickly return to your place. Aglaya should run in the centre of the circle and catch the ball. Next she has to toss it up, saying, e.g.: 'This isn't my ball! This is Matvey's ball!' and so on. A player, who missed the ball, is out of the game. If there are namesakes, they try to catch the ball, racing each another, and, in case of its missing, both players leave the game, which lasts as long as only three winners remain.
