Flower Meadow

Subject: Vocabulary

Skills: Writing.

Level: A2

Recommended Age: 10-12 y.o.

Number of Participants: 4-10 players.

Time: 25-30 minutes.

Place: Playground.

Equipment: Not required.

Materials: Pieces of chalk by the number of players.

Preliminary Preparation: Not required.

Immediate Preparation (5-10 minutes). First ask each player: 'What's your favourite subject?' If the answers coincide, then ask: 'What's your second choice?' so that each player gets their own subject. Next provide the players with the pieces of chalk.

How to Play. First the children disperse on the playground and draw circles around themselves, which represent flower cores. Next each player writes their subject in their circle. Then he/she draws leaves of his/her ‘flower’ and writes in them words, related to the given subject. For example, the Maths flower may have leaves like these: number, ruler, square, plus, calculator, etc. The winner is the player, whose ‘flower has more leaves’ with correct words.
