This game is designed to help new classmates to get know each other's names in a playful way.
Skills: Writing, Speaking.
Recommended Age: 10+
Participants Number: 6-12 players.
Time: 15-20 minutes.
Equipment: A hat.
Materials: One A4 sheet of paper.
Preliminary Preparation (3-5 minutes): Cut the sheet into 16 pieces.
Immediate Preparation (5-7 minutes): Distribute the cards and ask the students to write their names. When everyone is ready, seat the players in a circle and pass the hat around. Each student gives his/her name and puts his/her card in the hat.
How to Play. When all the cards are in the hat, pass it around again. This time, Player A takes out a card and reads aloud the name written on it. Next he/she hands the card to its supposed owner, asking: 'Is this yours?'. If it is true, Player A gets 1 point. If it is false, Player A continues to search the owner. When he/she has found him/her, you write the number of his/her attempts on the blackboard. Then it is Player B’s turn to take out a card and so on. If a student takes out his/her own card, he/she also reads aloud his/her name, says: 'This is mine!', but does not win any points. The game lasts as long as all the cards found their owners. The winners are the players to get the least points!
